Instructions:

  2. In a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter over low heat or in short bursts in the microwave.
  3. Once the butter is melted, add the chocolate chips to the saucepan or bowl. Stir continuously over low heat or microwave in short bursts, stirring in between, until the chocolate is melted and smooth.
  4. Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the popped popcorn in the mixing bowl. Use a spatula or spoon to gently toss and coat the popcorn evenly with the chocolate.
  5. If desired, add optional toppings to the chocolate-coated popcorn while it’s still warm. Sprinkle on chopped nuts, sprinkles, sea salt, or any other toppings of your choice.
  6. Spread the chocolate-coated popcorn out onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, making sure to spread it into an even layer.
